The Company:
StringWave also incubate technology
projects in four areas with the intention of launching new
companies in the Madeira Free Trade Zone based on these
technologies. These four areas are to include: 1) Alternative
Energy technologies, 2) Communications technologies, 3) Life
Sciences- agriculture technologies and 4) Life Sciences-
healthcare technologies. Priority is given to projects which
have the most benefits to Madeira in terms of education, job
growth, regional economic benefits and which are most
beneficial to other StringWave incubated technologies.
Our Mission:
The Incubator Program's mission
is "building a brighter future through technology". It is the
Incubator's goal to augment the Tecnopolo and the University
of Madeira’s special role of providing a fertile environment
for the growth and development of new ideas, and additionally
to create opportunities for the application and further
evolution of those ideas into the greater community through
the channels of commercial activity. This greater mission
encompasses three core objectives:

Enrichment of the Academic Environment

Technology Transfer and Commercialization

Regional Economic Development
Resources:
The
incubator will provide each incubated company resources
including:

Access to facilities including labs, equipment and library;
-
Basic shared business services including high speed Internet
access, copiers, conference rooms, telephone services,
security, etc.;

Access to faculty, staff, and students at the University of
Madeira; and
- Business
education including access to lawyers, accountants and
management companies.
The
incubator has set-up entrance policies which include the
requirement of having a completed business plan which includes
5 year financial projection. The incubator will typically
incubate a technology for up to 3 years or until the
technology satisfies the StringWave exit policy. If you are
